The Milwaukee Bucks have signed Wesley Matthews.

In a related transaction, the Bucks have requested waivers on rookie guard Georgios Kalaitzakis.

A 6-5 guard, Matthews averaged 4.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in 19.5 minutes over 58 games (10 starts) for the Los Angeles Lakers last season.

“Wesley is a proven veteran whose shooting, defense and experience will help us,” said Jon Horst. “He is familiar with Coach Bud’s system and our team. We’re excited to have him back with us.”

Dope. Kalaitzakis should have been a Two-Way from the jump, he is raw as hell for a 23-year old.

I find it kind of interesting how the defending champs are doing the defending champs load up on wily veterans thing midseason, rather than over the summer when it normally happens.

There is always room for tinkering with at the end of bench-type players. I can see why they took a flyer on Kalaitzakis, it didn't work out and so they moved on.
