The Indiana Pacers are moving toward a "substantial rebuild" and will likely open up trade conversations involving their core.
The Pacers are receptive to trades involving Caris LeVert and either Domantas Sabonis or Myles Turner.

Right now Laker fans are building trade packages around Deandre Jordan and zero draft picks.

And somehow they keep coming up with them getting Damian Lillard in return

That would be beyond stupid. Pacers are a good team, with a good and young core on reasonable contracts.
They should be the ones creating a trade package for a star, which would be either Sabonis or Turner plus draft picks.

Why do you think the Pacers are a good team?
They're 13th out of 15 in the East now, and they missed the playoffs last year and were swept in the 1st round the previous two years.
They don't have a star player or anyone even approaching a star player. Who do you think you'd get for Sabonis or Turner and 3 draft picks? I can't imagine that returns a superstar unless they were explicitly demanding a trade to Indiana which isn't going to happen.

Boston's chance to get a legit big. Turner the better fit, sabonis the better player. Will be interesting to see who else comes knocking.

Trading Turner and getting back Warren should provide them with 2-3 quality players. Enough to be in a PO spot and fighting for semis.
Turner has a good image around the league, although he is crap in so many areas. He is the prototype of underachievement.
The most difficult thing for the Pacers is who to play near Sabonis. He is 6-10 and he is not an intimidator. He is not a C, neither a PF. He can shoot, handle and pass, but cannot defend a true C or a quick PF. Although he is not smaller that Vucevic, who is surrounded by smaller players in the Bulls.

Trading LeVert and one of Sabonis or Turner does not constitute a "major rebuild." If that's all they do they could be better after the trades. They would arguably still have the best two players on the roster. Do it!

#13 may look bad, but only 4.5 games behind Miami who is currently occupying #4. Sabonis is only 25 and has been an allstar already. Brogdon, Turner, Levert, even Mcconnel and Warren are guys championship teams would love to have on their rotation. They lack of a true star and scorer, who can actually make them one of the top 3-4 teams in the West. They are one player away, and have means to get one. Going through a rebuild with the hopes that they draft a potential superstar is not worth it.

I am shocked that Herb Simon has apparently become amenable to a rebuild. In fact, I'll believe that when I see it. I've been a Pacer fan my entire life and a rebuild is something the Pacers don't partake in. We may retool but we don't rebuild. It'll be interesting to see how this unfolds but I won't believe in a Pacer rebuild til I see it take place.

My god you are spot on. I'd bet the farm I could open the BR app, go to the Pacers or Lakers community stream, and find something along the lines of a DeAndre Jordan for Myles Turner deal. For whatever reason, people seem to enjoy orchestrating their own deals that leave the Pacers giving it all up for next to nothing in return. They never actually occur thankfully.

For some reason Boston have just not been keen at all. Allegedly we could have had Turner and a 1st for hayward and boston said no. No idea if true, but Turner just doesn't float their boat

So they want to start with LeVert, their best Net rating player... and they hope they will get a better player ?
Their starting five is not the main problem, they are dominating, it's their bench that looses more points than the starters win.
So not sure if they have to trade several starters...
They have the 9th best starters at Efficiency difference, the 8 teams ahead and several behind them have a better record.
So it's not like this roster is horrible, they may just have to fix some small things first before trading their best players(s)

Their biggest problem is that their starters cannot stay healthy.

Right, but did they try another training staff first, no ? Not sure
