Zion Williamson continues to experience soreness in his right foot and will likely be shut down from basketball activities for the time being.

Williamson's bone has not healed the way the New Orleans Pelicans had expected.

Williamson underwent surgery at an undisclosed time this offseason and has yet to play this season.

Really starting to wonder if he’ll ever get his crap together and come anywhere near his potential. A real shame to have so much athletic ability yet he seems to betray his body every step of the way. All while still on his rookie contract nonetheless.

I wonder how much of this is due to actual regression and how much is due to wanting a top 3 pick to add next to Zion. At this point there is no point in rushing him back... Maybe have him play the last 10-15 games of the season.

A top 3 in bad draft. Not guaranteed to be top 3 either. He is just on his way to be a massive bust if he doesn’t get his body right.

Top three picks don't mean much of anything. The only good thing about it is being able to take ur pick of the liter with a full house. Often times people picked 10+ end up having more of an impact across their careers. Unless there is a for sure transcendent talent ala LeBron,Durant. What matters most is the team that is making the selection. Some teams know what to look for and how to accurately access talent and some don't and just go off the hype train behind someone and where the so called "experts" say that player should go in a draft.

The Heat for example don't care too much about picks cause year after year they find people that didn't even get drafted and others discarded. Yet those players for the most part end up surprising a lot of people.

This is what happens when you blow up players and pay them before they accomplish anything smh

I get on the phone with Indy and see if a Zion/Sabonis deal (centering around those 2) can be made.

It looks like Zion is approaching Sam Bowie and Greg Oden territory. I have a feeling Zion won't play this season and the entire front office of the Pels will be cleaned out in the offseason. It wouldn't surprise me if Zion was traded in the offseason either I think its time for the Pels to clean house and start over rebuilding around Ingram.

If he really is quite overweight he may also have early onset diabetes. This will slow the healing process.

At this point there is no reason to have this kid play this season. While it’s a disappointment to Pels fans and basketball fans as a whole, he needs to be 100% healthy to try and avoid further damage.

I don’t think we should rush to compare Zion to Bowie or Oden…yet, but I understand the sentiment.

Yeah, it was a big fear I had with Zion on draft day. He already had injuries and seeing him with that explosion and that much weight was something that seemed very high risk especially with his poor biomechanics. It has since been exacerbated by the fact that he has let his weight get much worse.

His story isn't over yet, but someone needs to desperately convince him to get his weight down to 225-230lbs or so. He should be doing nothing but trying to slim down at this point, and if he can get someone who ca help resolve some of his poor body mechanics it might not hurt either.

Put Fatboy in a Keto diet and Intermittent fasting routine. The frequent eating and sugars are contributing to his slow healing process, check his blood sugar he's probably borderline diabetic which does not bode well post retirement.

What are you talking about? Sometimes a draft class will have a clear #1. MJ, KD, Luka, Tatum, ... Wait! None of those guys were picked #1. There is always room for the team in front of you to screw up. But none of those guys are going to be around at #14. No, this is not the time to bring up Herro. He was a good mid-first round pickup, but he will never be in that conversation. Besides, the best you can do right now is be in the top 3 which gives you equal odds for #1, which was my point.

Zion fans would attack me when I predicted his body type would not translate well to the NBA. Unfortunately, I'm being proven right thus far.

Good luck, Zion. Come back strong next year.

Wackest, most egregious comment I've ever seen  imagine trading someone with top 20 all time potential and building around the obviously not MVP caliber player because they got injured in year 2, jesus.

Greg Oden has structural imbalances on account of one of his legs being longer than the other. Zion has a bad toe cuz he fat. Not comparable.

Imagine if the 76ers traded Joel in order to build around Ben Simmons and how well that would have turned out.

Yes, because everyone knows that eating less calories speeds up recovery...

What are you talking about m8? If anything him eating **** tonnes of healthy macros and healthy micros would speed up his recovery.
