Some NBA Team Officials Hopeful Of Asymptomatic Players With COVID-19 Being Allowed To Play

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Dec 16, 2021 3:56 am

Some team officials are hopeful the NBA can one day, perhaps soon, can reach a point where players who test positive for COVID-19 will be allowed to continue playing, according to reporting from Baxter Holmes of ESPN.

There is a sense of frustration that some players who have tested positive but are asymptomatic cannot play.

Sources tell ESPN that the NBA is mindful of the fact that those who are asymptomatic can still pass the virus.

The league currently has 97 percent of its players vaccinated despite not having a mandate.

"We are pretty much defenseless now -- not against getting sick but against transmission and contraction," said one Western Conference head athletic trainer.

asymptomatic people do not spread the virus. that is a carefully repeated lie in order to make everyone feel the need to wear masks or be vaccinated. but what is true is that vaccinated can still spread it. anyone else sick of all this for a sickness that kills almost no one without comorbidities?

Agreed… COVID is over. Anyone who’s afraid of it watches too much fake news and doesn’t live life.

I don’t have a single friend or acquaintance who’s died from this… only one friend hospitalized.

My grandma on the other hand… most of her friends passed over the last two years - half from COVID, the other half from other causes. They were all above 85.

I nearly spat my drink reading that COVID-19 is over  That's a beautiful thought but likely not in the realm of reality. I doubt that we are even halfway through this and fully expect it to be still be a problem for the next administration/2nd term. This whole thing was bungled from the start with the devastating consequence being that half of the nation has never taken COVID-19 seriously which likely will prolong all of this.

Of course it can transmit. Where do you think they swap the q tip? Up their asholes? Unless asymptomatic people don't breath... I don't see how it is not transmittable.

You think one American dying from the Omicron variant is serious? The solution is simple: anyone who's above 60 or immunocompromised - get vaxxed. Everyone else: get vaxxed if you want, and move on with life, worry about real issues.

We don't really know how serious Omicron is but as a whole, the situation is pretty bleak. If we assume the current observations are accurate in the big picture, it's going to have massive footprint but hopefully with a minimal number of deaths. That will afford the virus opportunity after opportunity to continue developing adaptations against any and all treatments....and that's just in the US. The rest of the world will also be a breeding ground for the same. It's easy for you to sit back selfishly with your grand plans of simplicity but they aren't an answer to the problem at hand because it's far larger than the here and now. What happens when we are on our 15th dominant variant that has developed adaptations that are skirting the defenses of the healthy? Neither of us know but that's why it's important to develop real solutions and do the things that we can do to reduce the footprint, spread, and opportunities to mutate into something worse. This isn't even touching on the economic realities of Covid. This is far more serious than most comprehend.
