John Wall Remains Unlikely To Be Traded Or Bought Out By Rockets

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jan 10, 2022 4:20 pm

A trade or buyout of John Wall by the Houston Rockets remains unlikely, sources tell Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Wall is not currently playing after the two sides discussed a return to game action in November.

Wall has $91.7 million remaining on his contract through next season.

If Wall becomes a free agent, there will be a number of teams interested in signing him.

there are 91.7 million reasons why he will never be bought out to become a free agent.

This guy is just sitting and collecting checks. What kind of condition is he going to be in mentally and physically if/when he does come back?

I'm sure he's not "just sitting" and is doing his best to stay in shape. But yeah there's nothing like playing NBA games to stay fit.

Nba picks and chooses who they let slide with “tanking”

To purposely sit out a healthy John wall for “player development “ purposes is our right tanking.

If ben Simmons were on the rockets with 4 years max left and they wanted to tank there would be no issue with Simmons collecting a 33 million dollar a year paycheck and sitting out games since Houston is way under the luxury tax now.

I was just thinking of two potential trade destinations for the man. One being the Lakers. Wall would have been a better fit than Westbrook I said from the start. I also think Boston could maybe switch things up.. Al Horford and Josh Richardson for John Wall

The argument for Wall to sit out is to develop young players. If so why is Eric Gordon playing at all? Starting question if there is something else going on between Wall and the organization.

I agree it makes no sense, Gordon might not be that hard to trade at this point but if Wall can play it would be better to play him to at least show he's healthy maybe someone has about 75% of that salary laying around that they can send back to the Rockets and move the guy.

If Wall wants to play anytime soon he must make it known hes willing to resign a 3 yr 60 mil deal at 20mil per yr.

He will make 48mil. But after that sitting 2 yrs he will only get vet min at 2.6 mil.

If he agrees to 3 yr 60 mil. He gets his 48mil.. then 6 mil per yr.

Another reason he may sit in Hou and will 1000% opt in next yr is for 48mil w no state income taxes. He making 91mil sitting. Lol

Rockets dont play him bc they afraid KPJ might throw his cell phone at coach or GM if he loses minutes.

Also Wall feels hes still a starter & better than all pgs on Hou. Plus he busts them 1 on 1 at practice.

If Wall would be willing to play a role like Gordon is he would be in rotation.

Ofc Rockets worried about fragile kpj. He throws **** and fits when things dont go his way & claims hes a slave.
