Kendrick Nunn's Return Delayed For Lakers

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Tue Jan 18, 2022 1:54 pm

The Los Angeles Lakers were hoping to see offseason signee Kendrick Nunn take the court this month, but that debut will have to wait a while longer. Lakers coach Frank Vogel said Nunn's bone bruise in his knee did not respond well to ramped up on-court work. As such, the team has backed off on Nunn's rehab.

The Lakers used most of their Taxpayer Mid-Level Exception to sign Nunn to a two-year, $10.3 million contract. Nunn holds a player option for the 22-23 season.

With Nunn unable to play since the preseason, the Lakers have cobbled together their backcourt minutes around Russell Westbrook. Avery Bradley has been the starter next to Westbrook, while Malik Monk, Talen Horton-Tucker and Austin Reaves have all played a rotation role.
