Hornets Register Interest In Trading For Ben Simmons

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jan 24, 2022 3:18 pm

The Charlotte Hornets have registered interest in Ben Simmons with the Philadelphia 76ers.

There have not yet been substantive talks at this time.

The 76ers are seeking a top-level All-Star or multiple first round picks.

Charlotte has long been on the market for an upgrade at center.

They should be targeting Myles Turner instead of Simmons.

Terry Rozier, PJ Washington and two 1st picks for Ben Simmons should be good.

The Kings offered Haliburton, Heild, Barnes and a first for Simmons and they were willing to take Tobias's ugly contract. I don't think you're even relatively close with that offer. While in reality it sounds fair, we're talking about Daryl Morey and his beloved Michael Jordan here. We're gonna need LaMelo Ball, Rozier, Hayward, and all of your first round picks... And then we'll see what else we can get lmfao.

The Kings never offered that, but I guess the point is to keep the stale joke going (‘Morey is delusional!’) rather than follow the real plot.

I think the Hornets are throwing their names in as a potential 3rd team. We don't have the star power to engage in the main deal assuming LaMelo and Bridges aren't on the block which they shouldn't be, but we have a lot of depth pieces. Obviously Hayward for a center makes sense, as well as downgrading (imo? not sure what people think about this either) Hayward to Harris for the right sweetener (player, prospect, draft compensation? no idea)

you won't find any Hornets fans who like this but if Simmons actually says he wants to play there you have to at least consider Hayward and Bridges. Miles is on the love train honeymoon period right now cause his counting stats are great and he was never supposed to be as good as he is now but he doesn't have Simmons talent level imo and his defensive IQ is extraordinarily bad. flaws that people will start to acknowledgement more once he's paid and not so young

La Melo and Simmons makes no sense at all.. That said Simmons is better than Lamelo.. When Embiid was out injured in Simmons second year he lead the team to the third seed in the east what has lamelo done.. I actually think Hayward is a very good player but too injury prone.. but your right there isn't anything Charlotte have the sixers would want even lamelo wouldn't do it cause noone thinks lamelo and embiid is a championship team...

Eh. Hornets are better off just building with what they got in my opinion.

Not one gm would take Simmons over LaMelo at this stage in their careers.

I'm not targeting a big man with a foot injury.
