James Harden Interested In Exploring Teams Beyond Nets In Free Agency

James Harden recently informed several confidants of his interest in exploring opportunities outside the Brooklyn Nets when he can become a free agent this offseason.

Harden could eventually re-sign with the Nets even if he does have clear intentions of becoming a free agent for the first time.

"James isn't going to hold back," said a person familiar with Harden. "He's gonna tell you where he stands."

Harden has been frustrated by the status of Kyrie Irving as a part time player due to his status as an unvaccinated individual.

Steve Nash's fluid rotation have also disappointed Harden.

Harden has also not enjoyed living in Brooklyn compared to his days in Houston.

The Philadelphia 76ers are a logical potential destination for Harden, but a trade before the deadline is highly unlikely. Harden could be a target in a sign-and-trade this offseason involving Ben Simmons.

If Harden doesn't enjoy living in BRK he isn't going to enjoy PHI either.

Nah, Philly's small. It's 15 minutes from the Sixers' arena or practice facility to your Center City loft or the type of McMansion-ville suburbia where most players want to live. Take you that long to go 8 blocks from the Nets' arena in BKN.

I suppose no team has 40m in cap space to sign him out right, correct?
Orlando with 35m cap space is the max, I suppose.

If he declines option doesn't need to sign for 35 right? I mean what is another 5 or 10 million for these guys at this point in their careers. He wants to choose where he goes, Orlando probably not his Choice.

If I am Brooklyn don't think I would take Simmons would look for a better deal if it comes to that. Not that I don't like Ben just think they can do better.

Kyrie. The gift that keeps on giving. Boston thought they knew better than Cleveland and Brooklyn said we are better we know how to take care of him. Ha. People never learn.

Philly's small? It's a giant sprawling mess!

It's all perspective I guess. I enjoyed my time in PHI but I wouldn't want to live there. I enjoyed going to MSG but I have no desire to go back. I wouldn't want to live in HOU either, but PHI is a lot more like NYC than it is like HOU.

Kyrie got the Nets Kevin Durant so that in itself was worth the risk 10/10 times and at worse they deal Irving if needed to keep Harden happy

The nets have no fans even with Durant playing they struggle to fill the stadium.. If Harden was playing for the knicks I have no doubt he would be enjoying it more than the nets but still Durant is the centre of attention which Harden wouldn't love but he had to expect that right?

Except for the winning part.

BRK currently has a better record than PHI. There are no guarantee's he'll win more games in PHI, particularly with Embiid's knees.
