Nuggets Granted $2.7M Disabled Player Exception

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jan 31, 2022 6:15 pm

The Denver Nuggets have been granted a $2.7 million disabled player exception for the loss of Michael Porter Jr.

The deadline to use the DPE is March 10th.

There have been reports that Porter could possibly return before the end of the season.

One of the most injury prone players from a young player I've seen. Embiid will always be #1, but man, Porter is a clear #2.....MPJ just can't catch a break it seems (no pun intended).

People forget this dude was the #1 prospect before college. Was easily going to be a #1 overall pick in the draft.....and thennnnn the injury plague began. Only played 3 games his freshman year, and still decided to enter the draft.

At first, I thought the Nuggets had an absolute steal when they drafted him even knowing he wouldn't play for his entire rookie year. He of course showed up during the bubble and truly reminded the world why he was such a top prospect. He was on his way to becoming a star.....

But time and time again it's been proven that even with all the ability in the world, the best ability is AVAILABILITY.

We'll see how long it takes for him to get back (pun intended).
