Joe Ingles Out For Season With Torn ACL

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jan 31, 2022 7:10 pm

Joe Ingles has suffered a season-ending torn ACL in his left knee, an MRI confirmed on Monday.

Ingles has no other structural damage to his knee.

Ingles is expected to undergo surgery as soon as he gets a range of motion back in his knee and will almost certainly miss the start of the 22-23 season.

Ingles was in his final year of his contract with the Utah Jazz and had been the subject of trade rumors.

I wasn't going to say it since I don't believe Ingles intended any harm to Kawhi on that foul, but it is ironic (and unfortunate.)

Tough choice ahead for Jazz. They'd certainly would get a disabled player exception in the range of $7M, but it'd be tough to replace Ingles production for that. They do need to engage Indiana for Levert or Warren, and trade his $13M expiring contract without being emotional about it.

Warren, if he's healthy. He hasn't played in a month.
Holiday, yes. If they had to make a trade with IND, he's probably the best fit. And IND apparently just wants 2nds for him.
LeVert, I don't think so. They already have Jordan Clarkson. I can't imagine those two on the floor at the same time.

But bad luck for UTA and Ingles

In a month ? Isn't he injured since more than a year ?

LOL, yeah... I actually thought I wrote "year".
A TPE might be better than Warren, who may or may not find his rhythm this season.
