LeBron James Won't Shut Down His Season

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Mar 2, 2022 1:39 pm

The Los Angeles Lakers season hasn't gone as anyone expected, but LeBron James isn't giving up hope yet. James said he'll keep trying to win games until the season is over.

"We still have games to play," James said. "Until you stomp me out, cut my head off, bury me 12 feet under, then I got a chance. So that's my confidence."

Despite battling different injuries throughout the year, James has no plans of shutting it down this season. Sources indicate James plans to finish the season, no matter the Lakers record.

Hater, if he would shut it down, you would say something like "kobe would have never done that to his fans who came and paid to see him ball".
I guess haters of all decades are the same and suddenly wake up or change their opinion as soon as something terrible, like death, happens to the hated person. Same with kobe, michael jackson, whitney houston, maradona etc

Who cares if he goes for all time stats. Why shouldn’t he? He’s already won championships and MVPs. WHY not?

Don’t act like you wouldn’t do it if you had the chance. Set records. Get over your holier then thou mentality.

Nothing wrong with that in a season that has gotten out of control. He was hurt and missed a lot of games. The second best player hardly ever plays due to injuries. Plus, then GM destroyed that team in the off season.

He's being paid to play games. To satisfy that terms of employment he actually has to...well...play in games. I'm not sure why people are so worked up about him playing games instead of just "shutting it down". I'd be more worked up if he decides to just shut it down. Isn't that what you guys complain about when superstars decide to sit out games? Now you guys are complaining if they now want to play games? He's 37 years old. There's not many more years he can keep playing this game. Why would he want to waste time not being on the court and playing while he still can? So he can ring chase? Weren't you guys also complaining about ring chasers? I'm getting the sense that some people just love to find things to complain about.

Still games left, never stop playing, except for the season he stopped playing.

What about Stanley Johnson?

Is he confident he will play out the season and not give up?

He's a Laker, yes, and therefore his opinion should be heard too? There are more players on the Lakers, who are superior to every other player in the league, than LeBron.

The complaints are that his opinion keeps getting broadcast as if he's the only aging player on a team which may not do well in the playoffs. It's not really his fault that the media focuses on him; to use his name to get clicks. So the criticism is really targeting sports media who insist that everything LeBron is newsworthy.

Stat chaser. Doesn't care about wins

It's a shame the Lakers don't have a pick to not play for. :noway:

Love him or hate him, he deserves everything that is written about him. He sucks up the glory, but then seems to always have an excuse when things go wrong.
Like he has every year, he has played GM and forced management to hire his buddies. Russ was a mistake plain and simple. Now he will deal with the fallout. Should he shut it down? Pretty sure that was some writer trying to corner him, but he's too smart to answer any other way. Play the season out. After all, he's still Lebron.
