Ben Simmons has yet to debut with the Brooklyn Nets due to a back injury. Last week, Simmons had an epidural injection due to the ongoing back issues.

"I think they're going to be cautious with it, but there's an expectation around the Nets that Ben Simmons will play this year," said Shams Charania on the Pat McAfee show. "It's going to be about him ramping up and feeling healthy.

"The problem with him is seeming every time he's gotten on the floor, he's had a flare up in his back. The hope is that now he's had the epidural injection last week, he feels better and hopefully whether it's in a week or whatever, he gets back on the floor and tries to ramp up."

Simmons last played in the Eastern Conference Semifinals in June.

Back problems still? Hope he can recover. Better hit the weights and fix it for good.

Shouldn't he have to pass a physical before the Nets traded for him?
If so, how did they not see that? I was of the understanding it was mental illness. (And even that was in question.)
What a sucker move Philly pulled if he was broken all along.

BRK won that trade either way. They got Curry, Drummond and two 1st for a player that was going to leave in the summer anyway. They weren't going to do any better in a S&T this summer. Simmons was a throw in so Morey could pretend like he traded Simmons for Harden. Simmons (might not/probably won't) live up to his contract, but Harden definitely won't live up to his next contract. In the end it will work out fine for BRK.

He didn't arrive here with a back injury, he injured his back here while preparing his return...

He must have cheaped out on the movers cause 76ers withheld his pay cheques.

And he shouldn't have, we all know his baggage is heavy ;)

I “expect” drop dead gorgeous women to be wildly attracted to me and come nymphominaical in my presence. But so far, my expectations run contrary to a huge body of adverse evidence. What was that like from Bad Santa? “Why don’t you hope in one hand and sh*t in the other and see which one fills up first”?

Eventually this will turn out into a terrible trade for the Nets.

Drummond and curry alone, with Simmons next season makes it worth it. Not to mention the picks. Harden wasn't needed.

So two role players and two low 1sts is better than two or three good years from Harden?

No, that's not correct. Even if the Sixers overpay Harden and he has three dead years at the end of the contract... unless Ben is back to being an All-Star for BKN Philly won that deal.

Yep, that's my point.
