LeBron James: It Was A Must Win And We Didn't Get The Job Done

The Los Angeles Lakers lost to the New Orleans Pelicans at home on Friday night in what was a must-win game. Afterwards, LeBron James didn't mince words about the Lakers performance.


"The big picture is that it pretty much was a must-win for us, and we didn't get the job done," said James. "We had great opportunities throughout the night, and we didn't make enough plays down the stretch. So that's the big picture."


Los Angeles dropped to 11th in the Western Conference with the loss. They now trail the Pelicans by three games. The Lakers also trail the San Antonio Spurs by a full game for 10th, which is the final spot in the Play-In Tournament. In addition, San Antonio holds the tiebreaker over LA, meaning the Lakers essentially trail by two games.

Congratulations on 17 world championships. I doubt anyone is mad at that. It's more LeBron trying to get kobe and mj beneath him is everyone's issue. He wants 7rings so bad to make false claims. Regardless of what happens this season we all know he will play gm again this summer. It's just crazy how these teams built and somehow they manage to still come up short.even Davis back they still can't beat new Orleans at all. Wait till zion is back next year. And on that bubble championship. We all know the clippers and lakers was the real finals. To bad it never happened.

Lakers may as well sit this playoffs out and get a good lottery pick. Lakers are old and slow. they need some extra young bodies on the team.

That is que consequence of going to a franchise en decadence because your real owners, the ds of this world, told you to do in order to be near xxxxwood and all the self-considered upper class so they can control you and you can work for their purposes and follow their orders...

I'm pretty sure you have the same number of rings that I do. You just glomed on to a front runner. But you did just prove that you can't count. :wink:

I actually grew up in LA and saw Showtime in the Forum. (Magic, Kareem, Worthy) I met AC Green when he came to my elementary school. I was a huge Lakers fan as a kid. I jumped ship with the Kobe rape "accusations". I could not root for that man. (If that's what you want to call him.) How soon people forget!

I think he knew early on that the Westbrook move was a bust. You could tell in his body language. I can't understand why nothing happened at the deadline. I think he also expected AD to be available a lot more than he was. Once he realized that AD was going to always be out, and Russ was a bust, he just gave up his playoff hopes.

Lebron is still a threat, on a decent team. Unfortunately he surrounded him self with two clowns and a bunch of old people. This summer will be telling. Will he look to improve his situation or just sit put and stat pad with the clown duo?

Some of us knew the day of the trade.... but of course Lebron is still a threat. However, it might require him to let the coaches coach and the GM's GM.
