Ben Simmons 'Very Confident' He'll Return During First Round Of Playoffs

There has been increasing optimism around the Brooklyn Nets that Ben Simmons will be able to make his season debut during the playoffs. Simmons is working his way back from a back injury.

"He is, I'm told, very, very confident he'll be able to make a return at some point in this first round series," said Shams Charania.

"I think Games 1 and 2 in Boston is too quick. But I definitely think after that is when the window for Ben Simmons to return opens up. Even if he's able to give him 15 minutes or 20 minutes, that's a game changer."

During the previous ramp up with Simmons, he was unable to progress past one on zero activity. Simmons could get to the point where he is ready to play if he can take contact.

No kidding. It makes you want to see them fail, right? But that is a RealGM issue. The initial tweet was:

"If the Nets win tonight they play Boston this weekend.. I think games 1 & 2 is too quick but after that I'd look for Ben Simmons to be back" ~@ShamsCharania

Come on there was very little chance they were gonna lose to the Cavs without Allen lol. Nets basically got bored and lost interest in the game after the first qtr lol

He won’t be “ready” for games 1 &2 because they are in Boston where he would be heckled mercilessly.

It would be a big step for his mental health if he decides to play and not hide. He has to be willing to risk embarrassment and failure to be great.

I am not a fan of how he and his team have handled things, but I am rooting for him. He fits perfectly on that team and they'll likely need him to have a chance of winning it. A much better version of Bruce Brown.
