Miles Bridges Fined $50,000 For Striking Fan With Mouthpiece

Miles Bridges has been fined $50,000 for throwing his mouthpiece into the spectator stands, which resulted in the mouthpiece striking a fan.

The incident occurred after Bridges received two technical fouls and was ejected in Charlotte’s 132-103 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on April 13 at State Farm Arena.

That's gross... but $50,000 gross? Maybe not.

One thing I would like to see is the NBA changing these fines from flat dollar figures to a % of their contract. As it stands, a tech for hanging on the rim (if he can get there) would cost Curry 0.004% of his annual salary. The same tech would cost Jose Alvarado 0.13% of his salary. These both sound like small numbers, but to put it back into dollars: If Alvarado and Curry were on the same deal the fines would look like this:

If they both made $45,780,966 (Curry's Contract)
Curry $2,000
Alvarado $61,041

If they both made $1,500,000 (Alvarado's Contract)
Curry $66
Alvarado $2,000
