Stephen Curry Laughs Off Dillon Brooks Post-Series Comments

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sat May 14, 2022 11:41 pm

The Golden State Warriors eliminated the Ja Morant-less Memphis Grizzlies after a hard-fought six-game series. That didn't keep Grizzlies wing Dillon Brooks' confidence from overflowing, however.

“They know that we’re going to come every single year,” Brooks said after the season-ending loss in Game 6. “We’re young, and they’re getting old. So, they know we’re coming every single year.”

Warriors star Stephen Curry seemed amused by Brooks' thoughts.

“He’s said a lot of crazy things,” Curry told The Athletic. “He called himself a dynasty already, so you’ve got to figure. On to the next round. Western Conference finals, we’re back. Let’s goooo!”

Curry's longtime teammate Draymond Green said the young Grizzlies earned his respect.

“That’s a group of young guys who — obviously, you get to the business side of things, and you’ve got to keep that together — but that’s a group of young guys that are hungry," Green said. "They are talented. They are athletic. They got it. You know, it will be good to see their progression over these next few years and where they can take it, because that’s an incredible young team. You know, they can be special. They can be really special.”

For a guy who shot lower than 35% FG all postseason, this Brooks is funny as heck lol. Yup I love his toughness and defense, but this guy has no idea what he is up against. Make it there before you talk.

Also, Brooks is 26 and Steph already 34. Brooks is hardly a rookie anymore. It’s weird to make such a comment when your team can’t beat a 34 yo.

So you say he’s getting old and we’ll beat him when he’s 35 or 36? How is that even something to be proud of even if you can do it?

35-36 is like an old granny for NBA basketball, especially for a small guard.

The only news here is Curry being a little stupid.
Morant was injured. The referees were on the Complainers' side. Dillon Brooks did not say anything disrespectful or untrue.

Morant was injured? Kindly reminding you on May 7th Morant scored 34 points and his team lost by 30. The referees were on the Complainers' side? Yup, otherwise they wouldn't give the Warriors' ball to the Griz with a jump ball at the last second of game 1 to set up a Morant last shot that he missed. Otherwise, they wouldn't give the Griz more FTs than the Ws every game, even 2x the number. Good story, bruh. Maybe the Griz can beat Curry when he is 40 years old, lol

The Memphis grizzlies of old, I respected. This group, not so much. Kind of feels like a bunch of douchebags that are claiming what isn’t theirs yet. They lost, with or without morant.

Maybe in your Dad's NBA. Small guards seem to be aging a lot better. The Heat and Suns are both looking like they are going to the ECF with a small 35/36 year old point guard. GSW has Iggy at 38 playing 20 min and Steph 34. Thats 3 of the 4 likely conference finalists playing small guards a lot of minutes.

Lot of talk by the Grizz.

Nice young team, and if they can keep it together for a few years, we might get treated to something special. But guess what? There's almost always a "chippy young up and comer" in the playoffs, who gives the veterans a fit....cause they're too stupid to know they're supposed to lose. Nothing special. Happens alot.

They had a good series, and made some noise. They have the NBA's attention. Good for them. Get back to work, and we'll see what you got next year, cause this year wasn't enough. Keep the trap shut in the meantime. Nobody's impressed.

Brooks is 26. He’s the 4th best player on a team that just lost in the 2nd round.

Curry was 27 when he was the best player on a team that won the championship.

Pipe down, bud.

2 Seed, Rd 1 win vs a game Minn, good showing against almost full strength Warriors, who were the better team when at full strength. Nice season for the Grizzlies. To their staff and players, keep working on your game and more good seasons will come. Plenty to improve, so upside potential is there.

Newsflash - Iguodala has been down since forever. And not playing 20 min.

You might sound more credible if you actually looked up the facts before posting.

OK. You are right that Iggy was injured. So what? That is still 3 of the 4 likely conference finalist with a starting small 34+ PG. You are still wrong about the larger point. You just tried to call a W off of the equivalent of a grammatical error.
.
People might take you seriously if you stuck to the argument.

These dudes are just talking. Why does everyone need to take sides? It's like a bunch of Middle School girls in here, claiming Team Edward or Team... whatever the hell the other ones name was.
