Atlanta Reportedly 'Convinced' On Acquiring Deandre Ayton

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Mon Jun 13, 2022 5:27 am

The Atlanta Hawks are reportedly "convinced" on acquiring Deandre Ayton this offseason, according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report.

“Atlanta is definitely another team that I’ve heard for Ayton. There’s one person I talked to pretty consistently who’s like convinced Ayton is the guy that Atlanta wants," said Fischer on The Athletic's NBA Show Podcast (h/t Pro Basketball Talk).

Ayton, who has been seeking a max contract extension, is reportedly "more likely than not" to leave the Suns this offseason.

Ayton has been rumored with several teams, including the Blazers

Trae Young and D Ayton on the same team could be really special...or disastrous.

So I'm guessing they're going to unload Clint & Collins somewhere to make this work.

Nah, prob Clint and one of these guys below:
Clint 17 Mill
Kevin Huerter 14 Mill
Bogdan 18 mill
Danilo 19.5 Mill

Ayton's not that good to give up Clint and Collins, those two combine for 30pts and 20 Rebounds a night..(I checked the stats)

I'd throw DeAndre Hunter into that mix as well.

Could honestly see them wanting Gallo instead because his contract is non-guaranteed and Sarver is a cheap sabotaging bastard like that.

Hunter is definitely NOT on that list

He needs a new deal and plays the same position as Mikal. I think a Okongwu and Collins combo is fair to both teams and will allow ATL to get value for Capela on their own separately.

Atlanta is unlikely. The Suns aren't looking to move DA unless they can stay in title contention. If you're getting both Capella and Collins, you may as well keep DA.
Phoenix should ask for a ton (guys like Hunter, Okongwu) which Atlanta won't agree to.

Hunter can play 2-4, and I'd imagine he takes Crowders spots in the SL in that scenario.

What about a 3 team trade with CHA/PHX/ATL

ATL gets: Ayton, Hayward, Shamet, Oubre, Saric, pick 15
ATL trades: Collins, Capela, Gallinari, Okongwu

overhauls their front court and gets two starters plus two rotation players and a pick.

Ayton/Saric
Hunter/Oubre
Hayward/Huerter
Bogdanovi/Huerter
Young/Shamet

PHX gets: Collins, Okongwu
PHX trades: Ayton, Shamet

Gets something pretty good for Ayton, who they don't want to pay anyway.

Okongwu/McGee/Biyombo
Collins/Crowder
Bridges/Johnson/Craig
Booker/Johnson/Payne
Paul/Payne

CHA gets: Capela, Gallinari
CHA trades: Hayward, Oubre, pick 15

Gets off of Haywards contract, gets a legit starting defensive Center.

Capela/Plumlee/Jones
Washington/Gallinari/McDaniels
Bridges/Martin/Thor
Rozier/Bouknight
Ball/Rozier
Go Knicks!

That's a pretty big trade involving a lot of moving parts, but as a Suns fan I would 100% do that.

Hunter will not be included. His salary too low and the Suns don't need him, his contract is coming up, can't pay him and Bridges who play the same position. Hawks really interested in Hunter, can't go overboard for DA, he's not an all-star.
