Collin Sexton Has Offer On The Table From Cavs

Collin Sexton is one of the best free agents still available. Sexton being a restricted free agent has complicated his market.

Despite that, Sexton has a standing offer on the table from the Cleveland Cavaliers. The offer is believed to be in the range of three years and $40 million. That's well below what Sexton hoped to get in free agency this offseason.

Sexton missed all but 11 games last season due to a knee injury. For his career, Sexton is nearly a 20 points-per-game scorer on solid shooting efficiency.

Wow way to stand behind your players Cleveland. This is what separates good franchises from bad ones. Sexton was supposed to be an integral component to Clevelands core and to low ball him on his contract despite the work he's put in for you over the years sets a precedent you lost faith in his abilities and his ability to recover. No wonder Cleveland can't keep stars

Sexton isn't perfect, but that's a bit of lowball offer. If he even considers that dollar amount, he should take a 1+1 deal instead.

It's almost appears to be a conflict of interest for Klutch too. One one hand they want Cleveland to have max capspace next summer for their #1 client Lebron. OTOH they are supposed to be looking after Sexton.

Cavs get lucky with lottery balls last season and all of a sudden are ready to dump the young player they were previously billing as a core piece. Kinda sucks but that's the business of the NBA.

So they should be like the Knicks and Hawks and throw $20Ms+ at a player that they don't believe moves the needle for them? The all midget backcourt hasn't proven to be a winner. Maybe they know that he won't accept being number 2 to Garland? It's a tough call but it could be the right one.

Or, he's not very good and it has been clear for awhile that Cleveland didn't consider him a core piece. Even prior to last season people were talking about Cleveland potentially moving on from him. Maybe he'll be able to find more use as a scorer off the bench.

He was hurt and out a year. The offer is an offer, if Sexton feels like he can do better its on his judgement to take his option and become an unrestricted free agent next offseason.

Dude, we tried to trade him last summer when it became clear that Garland and him were a bad fit. There's nothing all of a sudden about this.

He's coming off of an injury so he needs to take it, or gamble with a 1 year deal somewhere to get maximum market value.

I'm not sure he will get more than that anywhere else.

Could not agree more. Cavs got something good going, LeBron will find away to screw it up. Like He’ll bring back Carlos boozer out of retirement. LoL

If Sexton has something to show he should try to go to SA and might get all the PT that he wants then get paid.

Can he sign a 1+1 as a RFA, I thought those deals had minimum terms (though I could be very mistaken)
