James Dolan and MSG have no plans to sell the New York Knicks or the New York Rangers, reported Brian Lewis of the New York Post.

“We have no plans to sell either of the teams,” said MSG senior VP of communications and marketing Natalie Ravitz to Lewis in an email.

MSG analyst Jonathan Boyar floated the possibility that Dolan would sell the Knicks after the completion of a concert venue in Vegas called the MSG Sphere.  

Boyar added that the Knicks are currently valued at $6 billion.

The team prints money even being the bottom feeders of the league. It’s paradoxical that if he did less the team would do more since he clearly does not know how to build a FO or team. Being stupid and rich comes with heavy criticism which is the only cross he has to bear.

I guess the question becomes would the team still be as profitable if they paid top dollar for front office personnel and went over the luxury tax to build a competitive team..

I don’t know the luxury tax implications of paying 5 players 50 mm per year but they are one of the most valuable/ profitable sports franchises in the country. Within reason they can surely pay the luxury tax and be profitable.

So our knicks won't be good gor a while. Nice to know.

as a non-knicks fans, i'm happy to hear this. I hate seeing NY win, they got such obnoxious fans. i much rather see them hate on their own team
