The Miami Heat have interest in trading for Jae Crowder, sources tell ESPN.
The Heat let Crowder sign with the Phoenix Suns during his 2020 free agency. In 2021, the Heat replaced Crowder with P.J. Tucker, who signed with the Philadelphia 76ers this past offseason.
Miami will struggle to find matching salary to acquire Crowder until Dewayne Dedmon, Caleb Martin and Victor Oladipo become trade-eligible later in the season.

The only possible contract they can use to match is Duncan Robinson. Everyone else is either recently signed, or makes too much/little.
To do Duncan Robinson, the Suns would have to add either Saric/Payne/Craig to make the salaries match. I think the Heat could trade this years first along with it to make it work but not sure if thats enough to get it done.
Crowder is exactly what the Heat need and he's familiar with the organization too. What the hell happened with this relationship between him and the Suns? Did they just say he was gonna come off the bench and he didn't like that?

Duncan Robinson has a disastrous contract that lasts another 4 years. If the cost of trading Westbrook (on an expiring contract) is 2 unprotected 1st rd picks, what makes you think Robinson can be dumped for just one 1st rd pick? Just curious.

It's a combination of people not wanting the Lakers to get better and the fact Russ is declining every year.

I'd like to see Crowder on the Pelicans. I'd imagine Hayes + Lewis and a pick could get it done, but maybe Pelicans value Hayes more. I feel like Larry Nance's versatility to play PF/C would make this trade easy to do.

I promise you 29 yr old (this coming season) Duncan Robinson will also be declining every year.

Oh stop. Westbrook is making 2.5 times what Robinson makes. To match those contracts without giving up someone important is difficult for most teams. Plus, the Lakers are desperate to win now as LeBron is nearing the end of his career. Wasting another year with this core is less than ideal and out of desperation usually brings a higher cost.

I was more so talking to the person that you quoted not you, i should have just quoted them.
Robinsons contract is not "disastrous". Its the cost of an elite shooter now-days. Guys like THj, Fournier, Huerter, Bertans, Bodanovic's, Powell, Harris, Gordon, Trent, Dort, Beasley, Kennard, McDermott all make similar money to do similar things. If the majority of teams are paying an elite shooter between 15-19m per year, is it an overpay?

Oh my bad, bro. I agree with ya. The contract isn't disastrous IMO.
