The Detroit Pistons waived Kemba Walker on Monday.

The two sides initially agreed to a buyout following Walker's trade from the Knicks on draft day, though Walker admitted that he hadn't received any interest from other NBA teams.

The Pistons will eat Walker's entire $9.2 million salary for this upcoming season.

Wonder if playstyle is similar enough for us to pick him up

You know your career is in trouble when the Lakers aren't mentioned once you hit the FA market.

Who is us?

Your church league team? Then sure, his play style may be similar enough.

I do wonder how much better he may rehab in Miami or Phoenix. I don't think either roster has a spot for him right now though.

Good for him not giving DET a break. Kemba isn't what he once was, but he can still run an offense. Per36 he averaged 16/4/5. And people talk about his inefficiency. His TS% was .536. PG13's was .537. Beal's was .539 and WAS just gave him the kitchen sink.

Thibs didn't like playing a 5' 11" PG but Kemba clearly wasn't the source of the NYK suck last season. He went home and they continued to suck.

Bottom line,: Kemba could be big in spot minutes for a good team. 12-18 MPG. Maybe in PHX with his old pal Biz-B.

Dumb move by Weaver! Walker could help expedite the development of the young players
