Joshua Primo Goes Unclaimed On Waivers

Josh Primo has gone unclaimed on waivers and will become a free agent.

The San Antonio Spurs waived Primo after a former employee of the team alleged he indecently exposed himself to her.

The Spurs recently had picked up their 23-24 option on Primo and he is owed $8.4 million over this season and next.

The beauty if NBA contract. If this guy works any other jobs, even if he is the CEO is a huge corporation, he would have been fired without more pay due to cause. But now he is still getting 8 mil. He certainly pulled a fast one on the Spur...

$8 million is nothing compared to what Deshaun Watson signed for after his ordeal.

Athletes and celebrities do not live in reality. Someone will pick this kid up, and if he shows any type of development, he’ll probably get a substantial deal.

Someone mentioned in the GB thread that there is recourse for the Spurs to be able to stop payments if there was found to be a breach of contract.

I assume if there are charges laid the Spurs can get off the hook for remaining payments, and possibly seek recovery for payments made since termination?

He's 19 years old. This is a mistake he made. He's grown from it. Somebody needs to sign him. He's talented and will obviously get better. The sad part is this world is full of people who get caught showing themselves off to people. They just never get accused for it.

We have teammates punching out and ko'd him and still playing but primo is waived?I'm not saying he doesn't deserve punishment but this should get old fast. But the dude clearly wants to be a porn star. Let him live his dream to be a ball player and pornstar.i would think exposure to this should help him never do it again

I always say that if u get kids exposed at an early age, it’s good. Then again, over-exposure isn’t always good. I guess it’s a balance to being open-kimono.

From my extremely limited knowledge of the person and the situation: it seems a relatively tough punishment. A much older Kobe Bryant with good lawyers was accused of rape and was not banned from the NBA.
He deserves a punishment. Maybe it was not the first incident. Also I wish he addresses his personal problems, improve, and maybe later deserve a second chance.

he was waived with full salary this year and next

He won't be claimed this year.

Next year, however, is a different story. Some team will grab him. He's young and has potential. He's a lottery pick.

Said team and Primo will then put out a statement saying that he has undergone rehab and deeply apologies for his misconduct as a teenager. He made a mistake, blah blah blah.

Public will forget because we all have short term memories. Even if we don't forget, the effects of what he did will greatly fade with time. And then NBA fans and the fans of his new team will be excited to see what he can do.

End result: Joshua Primo gets reinstated in the NBA and is given a second chance.
