Kyrie Irving To Be Cleared For Sunday Return

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Nov 17, 2022 11:00 pm

Kyrie Irving is expected to be cleared to return to game action on Sunday against the Memphis Grizzlies at Barclays Center.

Irving will be coming off what became a team-mandated suspension that lasted eight games for posting a link to a film with antisemitic materials.

Sources tell Shams Charania that both sides are happy with what Irving has done throughout the process, especially given the number of community leaders he has met with.

Irving chose to go “above and beyond” what was asked of him, said one source.

Crazy. How many people have to clear him as not anti-semitic?

yup, they're definitely covering all bases to avoid any backlash. Just wish it wasn't so obvious and disingenuous.

It was never about Kyrie, it was about bringing attention to the issue to reinforce that it was not acceptable. Kyrie was just stupid enough to put himself in a position to be attached to this cause.

They're using faux outrage to assert dominance over a rogue chess piece. Power play.

Most definitely unfortunately this is how the world works. You pick your battles and battle when it leads to something positive for you, not simply to prove a point. This didn't benefit him, any cause, or anyone in any way whatsoever.

Kyrie's actions after people criticized him was stupid. A complete lose, lose situation, he should have just stfu played dumb and apologized. Seems like he's learning the concept of picking his battles now even though it is seemingly coerced.

This is just not the platform where he can act the way he acts. You can't have everything in life. If he wants freedom of speech, he can retire and say whatever he wants. He is lucky to come out of this situation without losing his job, especially with his history. If now he doesn't focus more on basketball, he never will. The one positive though he can get out of this situation is the fact that he got a lot of support from black community, and maybe that's worth it for him.

Agreed, you have to pick your battles, and battle when it benefits you.

It appears that Kyris is the type to wage war at all costs to himself even when he doesn't need to. At the original reporter's questions he could have said "I will only answer on the court basketball related questions in post-game interviews. please contact my agent for anything else"

He didn't lose his job because the NBA would get slapped with one of the biggest religious discrimination lawsuits in the history of the US. I have no love for BHIs (it's a religion created by freedmen that wanted to be anything but the cursed children of Ham - an idea pushed by early Jewish and Christian white supremacists and slave owners) due to their anti blackness and pushing of flipped white supremacist ideology BUT it is an officially recognized religion according to the US government. It's no more or less discriminatory than damn near all other Abrahamic religions, especially Orthodox (as opposed to contemporary) ones like Mormonism.

Does anyone in the NBA practice this religion though?

People can keep going through whataboutism all they want. Bottom line is ppl don't like being told via documentary that white people who died in the holocaust weren't actually real Jews, and they certainly don't like hearing it from a public figure.

Then again, there's a ton of 5 star reviews for the documentary. Sad that people believe "genetic and religious evidence" in a documentary that features neither a genetic nor religious expert. And yet they're "not sheep" for watching and believing every word.

Keep being that "beacon of light" Kyrie. Let it shine off the tin foil hat.

Ironic calling Kyrie a "chess piece", when he himself has called us mere mortals - pawns.

I'm guessing Kyrie does if he's pushing this film. A Muslim pushing BHI propaganda is pretty dumb, but honestly Kyrie is an idiot so I'm also 90% believing he never even watched the film, just liked the title and the look of the poster he pointed and got drug into a bigger fight against Kanye.

And it's not whataboutism, it's a legitimate religion capable of suing for religious discrimination. The whataboutism argument is something I'd rather not get into the weeds of here on a Friday morning.

And honestly if we're going to complain about the movie getting watched the media is to thank for that. They jumped down Kyrie's throat so much they made the book #1 on Amazon.

Imagine the situation was a white player who made a racist comment toward African Americans. How would that have played out? Gotta keep these fools honest.

Judaism is not a race. Jew is an ethnoreligious term which does not constrain to the loose depictions of race described by pigment, hair, and stereotypes. Race is a "social construct". Race does not exist as a "biological construct" in regards to sub-classification of humans. Semites are either descendants of ancient Israel, speak Semitic language, and/or followers of Judaism which include people of Afro-Asiatic origin. The term Jew refer to people who claim to be Semitic in some way. The term "Secular Jews" refer to those who claim to be Jewish but may not ascribe to Judaism or may be agnostic.

Supposed descendants of ancient Israel can be detected by way of DNA markers. The historical arguments surrounding the true descendants of Israel have been controversial for a very long time. The holocaust is supposedly a recent historical event which occurred outside of North America yet there is much public sentiment especially in the United States where less than 1% of the population identifying as Jewish. There is currently conflict over land disputes in Palestine-Israel today.

The term "anti-semitic" referring to prejudice against Semites (people who claim to be Semites, such as Jews) cannot be racist. If it was, we would just call people racist. Mind you racism doesn't exist biologically, just in the minds of those who conform to social conventions.

Please, everyone. Educate yourselves.
Stay cool, stay calm, stay crazy!

I wouldn't say the majority of the black community, only a select few ignorant people.

That's the thing that is irritating about this. You don't elevate yourself by putting down others. Some people are all about what benefits them yet contradict what they're advocating when it is extended to anyone else. Regardless of what some of these simpletons think, for a movement to happen there needs to be consensus. This is a stupid vehicle to promote your ideals as there is no chance in hell a consensus is coming out of this. Ignorance at its finest.
