Derrick Favors, Hawks Agree To 10-Day Deal

Derrick Favors has agreed to sign a 10-day deal with the Atlanta Hawks.

Favors averaged 5.3 points and 4.7 rebounds last season with the Oklahoma City Thunder. Favors was waived before the season by the Houston Rockets.

Favors played college basketball at Georgia Tech.

A lot of Celtics fans hoped for him last summer. Team went with Noah Vonleh (since traded for nothing) and Luke Kornet (who is .. sort of okay?) instead. I wonder how it happens that people decide someone is washed. To me, I'd think -- based on stats and past play alone -- that maybe he has a year or two of limited contributions left, but obviously almost all of the NBA thought otherwise.
