Jazz Shopping Mike Conley, With Lakers, Clippers, Wolves Interested

The Utah Jazz are believed to be exploring the trade market for Mike Conley, sources told Eric Pincus of Bleacher Report.

The Clippers, Lakers, and Timberwolves are seen as possible landing spots for the 35-year-old point guard.

Conley currently has $14.3 million out of $24.4 million guaranteed for next season.

I would definitely not call Conley’s season this year, “spectacular.”

Over the last three years, his scoring has dropped from 16 to 14 to 10.5. His FG% is below 40%, 40 points below his career average. He was a good three point shooter the two previous seasons, making over 40%, while this year, he’s down to 37%. Is this season a temporary downturn, or signaling that he’s sliding off the cliff at age 35?

Conley makes over $24 mil next year. I think that isn’t guaranteed to be a good contract.

You understand that if Conley is not worth $24.4 mil for his production, that waiving him and paying $14.3 for NO production is not a good thing either?

I'm don't see how they get him without a 3rd team who actually wants DLo (does such a team exist?)

Assume Minnie can't trade any of their few remaining 1sts left from Gobert bc of Stepian rule.

And they need to add 3M in salary coming back w/ Conley if DLo's going to SLC
(Fontecchio works, but Ainge isn't just salary dumping Conley if there is any market for him)

And if KAT actually has a torn ACL, rather than a calf strain (e.g. "worst case scenario here is that the extended recovery time for Towns -- we're on week 9 of 4-6 week projection -- indicates a more serious injury like an ACL tear, which would end his season") then he won't be back until Feb next season, if at all, and even then almost surely <100%
