OG Anunoby Ready For Trade From Toronto; Grizzlies, Pelicans Interested

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Feb 2, 2023 3:37 pm

The Toronto Raptors are receiving lots of interest in OG Anunoby. The New York Knicks have reportedly offered three first-round picks for Anunoby. The Memphis Grizzlies and New Orleans Pelicans are also interested in the Raptors forward.

There is an increasing belief that Anunoby is ready to move on from Toronto. The Raptors are considered the key team to watch a week from the trade deadline. It's unclear what Masai Ujiri's plan is for his underachieving team.

Both the Grizzlies and Pelicans have a host of young players and draft picks that they could offer to the Raptors in a trade for Anunoby. Also, both teams reportedly do not want to see the other land the talented two-way forward.

Memphis would be perfect fit for OG. But I don’t see them sending Steven Adams to Toronto. Raps need a proper centre

Too bad Memphis is not a perfect fit for the Raps... We need high upside young players in return.

The Raptors would be genius to sell now on OG while his value is overinflated. Barnes is great, but he is still years away from reaching his ceiling. Tanking makes sense for the Raptors. If you can get multiple first rounders for OG you should be doing backflips. Just have to make sure you project at least one of the picks as having a real chance at being a lottery choice.

Now the question becomes, can you move off of FVV as well?

I think the ideal scenario is getting picks and backcourt insurance behind FVV/Trent for Anunoby and then forwarding a portion of those picks with Birch for Poeltl.

We need to rebuild, our current core is played out and we arent trying to waste Barnes development years. Any deal will likely be with that frame of mind if this FO is serious.

Noone chooses to play in Toronto they are either traded or drafted there.

Not surprised it's cold and they suck that is like two things they had going against them when before it was only one. Trent Jr is probably sending out his resume too as is FVV

They do choose to play there if they resign there. Demar Derozan, Kyle Lowry, Serge Ibaka, Fred VanVleet and others have signed extensions to stay in Toronto...BY CHOICE.

Your comment is straight out of 1998.

They can easily deal FVV but it may not be the value they are looking for considering he's a free agent in the summer.

Agreed. At the very least Toronto should be looking for a high end prospect and picks.
Dyson Daniels or Murphy, filler + at least one premium FRP should be the asking price.
OG might not have Donovan Mitchell/Gobert value (even Gobert shouldn't have had that type of value) but the Raps should be looking for that young guy who can be developed into a potential star in addition to picks(s).

I'm pretty high on Dyson Daniels and with Toronto's coaching staff, I think they can turn him into a borderline star with Barnes. Murphy will have a long career with his sharp shooting. In terms of pick, they should go after the POR top 4 protected (I think POR will fall off sooner or later) or one of the Lakers pick swaps in '24 or '25 if that's do able.

Masai Ujiri is sitting back, laughing, and rubbing his hands like Bird Man.

Desperate lower to mid-level teams are about to set their teams back another 3-5 years in an attempt for their GM to save his job.

This has the Knicks all over it

If either team adds OG they instantly becomes REAL contenders. Memphis this year, the Pelicans in a year or two.

Brooklyn, NY, Minnesota, Milwaukee, even Boston and Chicago are colder than Toronto you douche. Not everyone can play in LA, Miami. Oh yeah those teams suck too. It’s this kind of mentality that is destroying Basketball. Was Michael Jordan desperate to leave Chicago and get traded to a “bigger market” or was he busy trying to establish his team and his city as a Championship contender?

There are only a couple market’s bigger than Chicago, of course MJ wasn’t trying to leave but if he was in Cleveland he would’ve being trying to get to a bigger market..

Chicago was one of the worst teams in the league for literally their entire history when MJ arrived. What are you talking about?

If Toronto has all of these players with a lot of trade value, why do they suck?

Tell me you don't watch basketball without telling me you don't watch basketball... Why do the Warriors, Suns, Timberwolves, Pelicans, Bulls, Blazers, Lakers, Hawks all suck... Based on your hypothesis, I guess none of those teams have any assets of value.
