Nets Have Talked Ben Simmons Trades

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Feb 9, 2023 2:30 pm

Brooklyn Nets general manager Sean Marks is in the midst of reshaping his team's roster. Marks has already traded away Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. Now, Ben Simmons could be next.

The Nets have discussed Simmons trades with a few teams since trading away Irving. It's unclear if Brooklyn is still looking to move Simmons after leaning into a retooling of the roster following the Durant trade.

Simmons is owed $113.7 million through the 2024-25 season. At $35.4 million, it might be hard for Brooklyn to find an in-season trade partner for Simmons.

In his return season, Simmons has averaged 7.2 points, 6.4 rebounds and 6.4 assists per game. All are career-lows for Simmons, who is also taking the fewest shots of his career at just 5.8 attempts per game.

Jazz will take him on for Clarkson and Olynyk as long as Brooklyn attaches a FRP.

Would they really? I don't think Simmons meshes with Utah's culture at all.

Utah’s culture right now is tanking. They can trade for Simmons now while he’s injured, sit him the rest of the season, and then inflate his value and flip him next season.

that's easier said than done. Simmons is a role player on a superstar contract.

Maybe they would look at it from that route, but IDK, seems like a headache that can easily be avoided by just not trading for him.

How exactly does any team inflate the value of a player that appears to have zero passion for the game?

Ben got his bag. He doesn't seem to care much about what happens now.

Dude isn't injured. He's emo.
