Mavericks, Nets Were Each Offered Multiple 2nd Round Picks For Dorian Finney-Smith

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Feb 17, 2023 8:04 pm

Both the Dallas Mavericks and then the Brooklyn Nets turned down offers of multiple second rounds picks for Dorian Finney-Smith, sources tell Jake Fischer of Yahoo.

The Nets acquired Finney-Smith from the Mavericks as part of the Kyrie Irving trade.

Finney-Smith signed an extension with the Mavericks in February 2022 worth $52 million over four years.

Shortly before the Mavericks traded Finney-Smith, there was a report from Shams Charania linking him to the Utah Jazz. The Mavericks knew at that time it would take the inclusion of Finney-Smith to lead them to acquire a star player.

Member when people thought he could net 2 firsts?   A 3rd-stringer like Dfs is worth a middling 2nd at best. The dude has been crap since we traded Bird Box Barnes and inserted him into the starting lineup. I thought he'd be a poor man's Iggy, but he turned out to be a crack version of DeShawn Stevenson...
