Mark Jackson Apologizes For Leaving Nikola Jokic Off MVP Ballot

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri May 12, 2023 11:58 am

Mark Jackson has apologized for leaving Nikola Jokic off of his MVP ballot. Jackson received backlash after the NBA made all postseason awards ballots public. Jackson was the lone voter, out of 100 total voters, to not have Jokic in his top-5 for MVP.

Earlier in the day, Jackson told Sirius/XM's NBA Radio that he made an honest mistake. Jackson said he listed a center (Joel Embiid), two forwards (Giannis Antetokounmpo and Jayson Tatum) and two guards (Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Donovan Mitchell) on his ballot by mistake.

Cuz Jokic is white?

Should take his ballot away for not knowing the rules at the very least

He left Jokic off on purpose to maximize his vote for Embiid by not giving Jokic second place points. I don't know that his motivations were racial in nature, it's possible, but just as possible he was just doing whatever he could to game the system for his guy. Either way, if you're not making a real vote and trying to game the system, you should have your ballot pulled.

Can we please stop crying "racist" every time someone eff's up? You guys are so tired! Jackson had both Jokic(2) and Doncic(5) on his ballot last season. He voted Jokic #1 in 2021. Maybe just do three minutes of research before you say something stupid. :banghead:

Taking his excuse at face value, he still should lose his ballot for being that careless.

This is why players should vote and not the media...Joker top 3 in the league this year that's not an honest mistake if you follow basketball.
