Lakers Looking To Trade No. 17 In Package For Starter-Level Player

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Wed Jun 21, 2023 5:51 pm

The Los Angeles Lakers own the No. 17 and No. 47 picks in Thursday's draft and there is a growing expectation they will trade their pick, sources tell Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

As recently as a few weeks ago, the Lakers were leaning toward keeping their pick.

The Lakers could use the pick plus some combination of salary such as Malik Beasley and Mo Bamba to acquire a starter-level player.

The Lakers have been linked with Myles Turner, Buddy Hield, Dorian Finney-Smith, Royce O'Neale, Gary Trent Jr. and Kristaps Porzingis.

Lol. Lakers are not landing any of those players with 17 pick and couple of expiring bench players.

Only in the mind of a delusional Lakers writer.

17th, Beasley, Bamba and a bunch of 2nds for Turner works.

G - Russell
G - Reaves
F - James
F - Davis
C - Turner

bench: Vanderbilt, Rui and fillers.

I like it.

I don't know. IND might want to turn Buddy Hield into a 1st. Gary Trent, Jr. is overpaid and TOR is "retooling" at the very least. Porzingis is a free agent to be, so if WAS could get a 1st in a S&T they would do that in a heartbeat. Dorian Finney-Smith is the 5th starter on a good team and isn't likely in BRK's long-term plans. BRK might give up Royce O'Neale for that #47 pick. Turner is the only player on this list that seems unlikely with the #17 pick.

Read my comments above. :D
You are also asking IND to take back bad salary in the deal. That's a longshot.

The Pacers will not be trading Turner, maybe Hield and the newly acquired 40th pick for the 17 and Beasley.

Reminds me when everyone said westbrick is untradeable, lakers don’t have picks until 2030, etc. we’ll see. The jealously is real
