The San Antonio Spurs have interest in trading for Evan Fournier, sources told Ian Begley of SNY.
The Knicks have balked at adding additional draft compensation to trade Fournier thus far.
The Spurs would have to send back additional salary in a deal to satisfy trade rules.
It was reported earlier that the Knicks remain engaged on trading Fournier.

Graham and Birch for Fournier? Matches up salary wise.

Makes sense for SAS, but I don't know how that helps NYK.

If the Knicks are looking to trade Fournier for a player (or players) that help them without including picks then they aren't going to trade him.

Definitely doesn't help NYK but if they want to get off his contract, it lines up salary wise. It's probably better off the Knicks just let him expire.

Cedi Osman and Reggie Bullock for Fournier? Maybe a second round pick from the Knicks too?

Naw, he's a 6-7 SG with a reliable 3pt. He's also on an expiring deal. Someone will want one or both of those things.
The two players TimeisIllmatic mentioned will not be regular rotation players for either team so I could see SAS throwing in a 2nd... because, why not? This has got to have more to do with getting a French dude in there more than what Fournier brings to the court. It's probably worth it to them.... and they'd save a little bit of cash.

If someone would have wanted him he'd already be traded.
Those other two guys are more tradable than Fournier as they're smaller contracts.
I'd be very surprised if the Knicks get ANY picks to offload a player they aren't playing.

1) The post we're discussing is titled:
Spurs Interested In Evan Fournier... so apparently somebody wants him, despite the fact that he is yet to be traded.
2) The trade deadline is a long way off and he's got a Team Option on his deal so he can be treated as an expiring deal. Teams give up picks to acquire expiring deals all the time... and he can shoot, so a contender might take a chance on him as a rental. He isn't getting minutes because Thibs has deemed it so. It doesn't really speak to what another coach might do with him. Pop would certainly get more out of him.
3) SAS have something like fifteen 2nds over the next seven years and some of them are really bad. For example: 2027- least favorable of OKC, HOU, IND and MIA. (That's bound to be in the 50's.) The Spurs wouldn't think twice about moving off a pick like that.
