Chris Paul To Come Off The Bench For Warriors

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Oct 29, 2023 10:13 pm

Chris Paul will have a new experience in his 1,366th NBA game. Paul will come off the bench for the first time in his career.

With Draymond Green returning the Golden State Warriors, Paul will come off the bench against the Houston Rockets on Sunday night. Green is returning after missing the Warriors first to games due to a sprained ankle.

6th-man is his to lose. Currently playing like garbage and only averaging 12/4/10. If he can figure out how to shoot again he may wind up around 14/4/8.

So you're saying that he's playing like garbage but 2 more PPG would be good? Or he's garbage no matter what?

I just don't see him fitting currently with the Warriors. He needs a partner for his deadly pick and roll game and right now he just doesn't have one. He made DJ an all-star and Blake a superstar with the Clippers. David West with the Hornets, Ayton with the Suns, etc.

Dwight Howard could have potentially filled that role, but they chose against him. Maybe he wasn't a good fit, but they need to get CP3 a partner. If they don't, then they may as well buy him out now as that's what will happen sooner or later. He simply won't accept getting benched. Maybe 6th man, but if his minutes suffer too much more he will want out.

Wise decision. He's not fitting in the starting five with Curry and Thompson.

So after 3 games, Paul is averaging 31.7 minutes, 10.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 9.3 assists, 2.0 steals, and a career low 1.7 turnovers!
While his shooting hasn't been good (Paul shooting.343, but even Wiggins is only .371), everything else has been excellent.

Well, that was kind of my point. I should have said "shooting" like garbage. But clearly he should be a favorite for 6th-man.

He's made a lot of people look good over the years. There is no height requirement to receiving a good pass.

It's not really about points. He is playing poorly in comparison to what we have come to expect from him and shooting like trash. I expect him to shoot less and still score more as he works himself into the offense. My overall point was that I expect him to be better than this, or at least more efficient.
