The New York Knicks and Toronto Raptors already hooked up on one big trade this season. Now, the Knicks may have interest in doing another deal with the Raptors.

Recently acquired Bruce Brown is someone New York has interest in. The Knicks met with Brown when he was a free agent this past offseason. Now that he's been traded from the Indiana Pacers, New York could look at acquiring Brown from Toronto.

Brown's defense-first mindset would fit the type of player Tom Thibodeau prefers. He'd help replace some of the ballhandling, playmaking and perimeter defense New York gave up when they moved RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley to acquire OG Anunoby.

Fournier and picks or Fournier and Grimes. Depends what Toronto wants.

Brown is overpaid but Knicks would use him as the backup PG, SG and SF without Grimes. I'd expect Brown and Hart get 25-30MPG each on basically an 8 man rotation. If they can Mitch Robinson back for the playoffs and get Brown they'll be a tough out.

Knicks could really use his playmaking or Thibs is going to run Brunson into the ground; added boon is he's a 1+TO.

I like that deal, Fournier/Grimes for Brown, waive Temple.

The Knicks need someone to provide a healthy dose of scoring off the bench (they are consistently being outscored by the opposing teams bench). That's not Brown. Yeah yeah Brown's a "Thibs type guy". That doesn't mean he's what the Knicks need.

Best case scenario- he is bought out and signs with Nuggets where we love him.

Bruce Brown is an exceptional role player -- excellent rebounder / defender / energy off the bench, was perfect in his role for Denver.

However the Knicks need scoring / playmaking for the 2nd unit.

Better trade scenario?

Spurs receive = Grimes / Fournier / future protected 1st

Knicks receive = Keldon Johnson / two future 2nds

Why Knicks make this deal? KJ can legitimately play 3 positions, just 24, superb rebounder, consistent 17ppg + scorer, playmaker / above average defender on a long-term cost controlled contract

Why Spurs make this deal? KJ was demoted to the bench, Grimes is a young 3D player ( on minimal contract & spreads floor for Wemby to operate ), Fournier is also elite 3pt shooter ( spreads floor for Wemby ) on an expiring deal & fellow countrymen of Wemby ( enhances Wemby's transition ), first round pick ( future accumulation of assets )

i think the Knicks just covet everything the Raptors have lol

The American media narrative of sell all the raps assets needs to stop. Find another team, like Atlanta or Chicago that need more of that attention.

Bruce Brown is staying in Toronto.
