Bruce Brown 'Loves New York', Admires Tom Thibodeau

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Sun Jan 21, 2024 1:11 pm

Bruce Brown was happy to be back in New York for the Toronto Raptors game against the New York Knicks. Brown could see himself playing for the Knicks and Tom Thibodeau at some point. When asked what makes him see that, Brown said he's Thibodeau's type of player.

“I am a dog,” Brown said. “I play extremely hard on both ends of the floor. I can do just about whatever (Thibodeau) needs me to do.”

Brown said he considered signing with the Knicks before he inked a two-year deal with the Indiana Pacers. The 6-foot-5 wing knows he's the kind of player Thibodeau prefers. There are rumors that New York could be targeting Brown again, now that he's been traded to the Raptors.

“I play extremely hard. I would think [I’m] the type of player that he likes," Brown said. “Every time we play Thibs I go up to him and shake his hand, just because of what he’s done. Nothing but respect for Thibs.”

Brown also mentioned how much he came to love New York from his time playing with the Brooklyn Nets.

"I love New York,” Brown said. “I hated New York before I lived here, but as soon as I moved here, I loved it. Anytime you want to do something you can go do it. Great restaurants, great city, I love being back.”

And yet he doesn’t bring what the Knicks need most and instead would just add the same type of player that they already have. Yeah yeah but he’s a Tom Thibodeau type player. Thats almost as cliche as the notion that everyone needs to shoot 3s and if he can’t he’s crap.

If the Knicks did not have Josh Hart on the roster - then yes BBrown would be a great addition.

Right Knicks need a playmaker / shot creator / backup PG and some front court depth.

Ideal pickup would be :

Guards - Tyus Jones, Brogdan
F / C - Gifford, Drummond

Lonshots - Dejounte Murray / Keldon Johnson

Brown must loves going places. He has been on 5 different teams in 7 years. If he moved to Knicks or lakers, that will be his 6th team.

Lol nice, aren't you a Raptor right now? I guess this is a method of asking for a trade.

How about Clarkson, Olynyk to fit the needs.

CAA mafia back at it.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

I’m not certain, but it seems like this “story” is made up from old quotes from Brown, not during his time on Toronto

Clearly defense is the difference between winning and losing for this team.

Probably should've kept the "Anytime you want to do something you can go do it" line to himself. I think that's a major concern for organizations acquiring players because that can often be an issue.

Except he's not a rookie. He's an established vet that has never been in trouble in three locations including NYC.

Clarkson / Olynk are great pieces but both are scorers ( and on the wrong side of 30 ) - they don’t fit the current roster needs which is backup PG / playmaker and some front court depth
