Luka Doncic Asks For Fan To Be Ejected During Loss To Suns

Luka Doncic requested a heckling fan be ejected during the third quarter of the Dallas Mavericks' 132-109 loss to the Phoenix Suns.

Dallas was outscored 43-20 in the quarter as Devin Booker scored 22 of his 46 points.

Doncic reacted to the heckler, a Suns fan who wore a Booker "El Valle" jersey while sitting in the second row behind the midcourt press area, late in the third quarter. The man shouted: "Luka, you're tired! Get your ass on the treadmill!"

Doncic stared at the fan for a few seconds then waved toward Mavs vice president of security Brian Kinzig, pointed at the fan and gestured that he wanted him ejected.

Doncic approached Kinzig on the court during the break between quarters, pointed at the fan again and requested for him to be ejected.

Doncic took umbrage with the reporting of his request for the fan's ejection.

"He was cursing me the whole first half, too," said Doncic.

Asked why he didn't ask for the fan to be ejected during the first half, Doncic said: "Because I never would eject a fan. They paid for tickets, but I had enough. It's a little bit of frustration."

That's pretty weak trash talk, if that's what broke Luka to ask a fan to be removed he needs to start using a mental treadmill.

I understand that the NBA needs to protect players, but the inverse is true too. A fan should be able to engage in heckling of the opponents players as long as it does not involve their families/racist bs, etc.

Telling a player they look tired and to get their fat ass on a treadmill may not be nice, but it is acceptable banter IMO.

I have talked a lot of crap to players over the years, and often times have gotten good zingers thrown back at me, sometimes even yelling at players on my own team. Generally good hearted exchanges and makes the game fun. Often getting people around me to laugh and enjoy it.

I had a number of exchanges with Raja Bell over the years, and I'm pretty sure he had good fun with it.

Luka was not happy about how Tim MacMahon reported this as if the fan said 1 thing and Luka asked for him to be ejected.

Reddit nbacj will lose their collective mind that Devin booker is Luka’s father.

Glad I'm not the only 1 who thought he was full of it and that TheSeeker was more likely to be sitting his fat ass in his mom's basement yelling at the screen like he's there as she tells him to quiet down and go to sleep so he doesn't miss the short bus to school again.

If this was all this guy said then there was no need to eject him.

Haha, ok. Had 4th row center tickets to the Jazz games for a number of years, but sadly moved away and let a friend take them over, but still go to a game or two a year. The funny thing, I did what a lot of fans do and yell almost like I was watching at home.

When I was a kid and sat in nosebleeds people would yell even more. I remember the first time a player responded to me, shortly after sitting in the lower bowl seats it actually took me by surprise, as for some reason I didn't expect any of them to care or talk back. I was yelling at Bryon Russell to quit shooting during a stoppage in play because he was having a horrible night. He turned to me and said "c'mon man, I'm trying and just smiled". He was a good sport.

Probably the most fun was at the Rocky Mountain Revue back in the day when the whole NBA was basically there and GMs and stars would be close to you. Most were very nice and would talk to you. And with limited restaurants near the Delta Center you'd see a lot of them after the game. I did sit at the table next to Mark Aguirre and Jermaine O'Neil (PF Changs) and some other Pacer coaches once. Probably the most fun was seeing my 5' wife standing next to Pavel Podkolzine (sp?) waiting for a table at a CPK. The size difference (width as much as height) was crazy to see. I'm pretty tall but felt tiny next to that guy.
