The New York Knicks have agreed to acquire Alec Burks from the Detroit Pistons for a package including Quentin Grimes.
Burks previously played for the Knicks, but was traded ahead of the 2022 offseason to create cap space to sign Jalen Brunson.

Burks seems redundant with BB going to NY but guess Knicks want to insure a shooter on the bench available. Burks will be there in case of injury to BB. Thibs has used him as a backup PG before too. In a 9 man rotation he usurps McBride.
