J.J. Redick To Interview With Hornets For Head Coach Vacancy

J.J. Redick will interview with the Charlotte Hornets for their head coaching vacancy.


Redick previously interviewed with the Toronto Raptors last offseason for their head coach position.


Redick is currently one of ESPN's lead color analysts along with Doris Burke. Redick also has multiple podcasts.

He’s going to get the job, and they’re going to pay him big to get him away from ESPN. The extra year being promoted has helped his value tremendously.

He's a bright guy and knows the league but he has zero coaching experience.

Why is he interviewing for Head coach gigs? Nepotism at it's finest.

A 15 year NBA veteran role player who is quite well respected for his basketball IQ and still involved in the game. Why wouldn't he be considered? Do you say nepotism because he doesn't have much coaching experience? I mean, I probably wouldn't hire him, but that doesn't mean I wouldn't interview him. I see him as a potential upside coach vs a known quantity coach (like a Dwayne Casey).

Steve Kerr had no coaching experience.
Neither did Doc before he coached the Magics.
