The Brooklyn Nets announced they will retire the No. 15 jersey of Vince Carter.

Carter will be enshrined in the Basketball Hall of Fame this summer.

Carter played 4 1/2 seasons with the Nets while they were in New Jersey, averaging 23.6 points.

Carter will become the seventh Nets player with a retired jersey. Along with Kidd, the others are Julius Erving, Buck Williams, Drazen Petrovic, "Super" John Williamson and Bill Melchionni.

I like VC but he didn't do enough to get his jersey retired by the Nets.

what'd he do there? a statue of the mourning dunk is more sensible than a jersey retirement.

I love Vince and am one of the ones that think Toronto should/should have retired his jersey.

But NJ/Brooklyn retiring his jersey is just hilarious.

agree not enough to warrant this.

Wasn't *quite* efficient enough and didn't defend

NJ postseason numbers are solid, aside from the pedestrian percentages:
25.8 pts 6.9 reb 5.3 ast 1.3 stl just 2.8 tov in 23 postseason games on 43/313/75

Even in Miami beatdown from Shaq/Wade, good numbers:
30 pts 6 reb 5 ast 1 stl in 5 games
In the elimination game Vince and Jefferson each went for exactly 33 pts 7 reb 5 ast
Both had 9 4th qtr pts and just 1 tov between them (DWade had 8 pts and 4 tov in the 4th)

His last 2 Nets playoff games particularly brutal scoring against Lebron Cavs.
Even with Kidd hitting 43% 3P on 7 atts in this post season.

This is a bad jersey hang.

lol. Not Raptors? "Air Canada" Carter.

Silly move by the Nets. Trying to take some spotlight away from the Knicks, perhaps?
