Teams Monitoring Potential Trade Availability Of Julius Randle

The future of Julius Randle with the New York Knicks is uncertain as he could become a free agent in 2025 if he declines his player option and is eligible for an extension this offseason. If the Knicks trade for a big star this offseason, Randle could be included as an outgoing player.

"He's got a player option in 2025. He's eligible for a four-year, $181.5 million contract extension this summer. Teams are monitoring this situation for sure, because how they handle that extension situation, if that is a conversation, what transpires. I think that will be interesting. If you think about movable assets, salaries, obviously Julius Randle has got a number if you make a big, big trade."

The Knicks lost Randle in January to a season-ending shoulder injury, but were still one win away from the Eastern Conference Finals.

idk why you guys find that so funny. the dude is an all nba player. make fun of him as much as you want, run with that stupid narrative, that hes not a playoffperformer all you want. the teams/gms know he has value and is one of the best in the league. thats a way better indication, than what a bunch of casuals on the forums or social media say :D

Who's being funny? Who's running with an narrative. All I said was thet he's available... and I promise you he is.

That doesn't mean that they will trade him. It will take a decent offer to get it done. All I'm saying is that NYK will pick up the phone and listen. They'd be foolish not to.

All Shams said that teams are monitoring the situation. He didn't say Randle was highly coveted as a player. Teams are going to monitor potential trade partners. Julius is an expiring contract so his money coming off the cap after next season may be as valuable as him as a player to certain teams. We don't know what teams/gm's think of him.

You may think you're smarter than other people, but you're just another guy with an opinion like the rest. And obviously you are always going to be more biased towards a Knick since he plays for your favorite team.

News flash - the Knicks will not be trading Julius Randle.

There are 5 players the league averaging 24ppg 9rpg 5apg --- and four of them are the top 4 players the league ( Luka, Jokic, Giannis, Embiid ) -- Julius Randle, statistically, is producing at that level.

There are only 3 circumstances which the Knicks will consider a trade or moving on :

* JR requests a trade
* Contract extension talks are scrapped / contentious
* JR significantly limited play post shoulder recovery

Does he have his quirks? Absolutely. But in no way shape or form will the Knicks get that type of production in return unless you completely gut and overhaul current roster ( which would make zero sense especially now that they have a foundation / culture ).

Ultimately, the Knicks offseason will focus on re-signing Hartenstein & OG -- and solidifying their bench depth.

This. Anyone watching this team play in January before the wheels fell off would not be talking about trading Randle. Anyone still talking about it would know he has tremendous value to that team so bring your best offers because he isn't a salary dump.

The Knicks were almost unbeatable in January and one of the two losses we had were without Jalen. Fully healthy the Knicks can contend right now. Why break that up? It would take a great player coming back for that trade to happen.

You both really think Rose is going to pony up that kind of money for that long for Randall? I have to say I think there's no chance of that without trading him.

I'm saying Randle has value. The team isn't giving him away so, the return will have to be worthy because the Knicks were the best team in the league fully healthy back in January. He was a huge part of it.

His max would be decided when they sit down. The financial situations for these players might matter a little less seeing how close the team, is to winning it all. Doing it NY would make them LEGENDS!! There's levels to this.

Randle wants a max extension. He’s injured a lot. He disappears in the Playoffs.

Trade him while his value is high, even mid season next year. He’s not worth the risk.

He's absolutely NOT injured a lot. Clueless comment. He was injured in the last playoffs but, there are question marks there. You have no idea what Julius Randle wants so don't pretend you do.

Who you gonna trade him for? What's the trade you have in mind. The team isn't giving him away that's for sure. Which was my entire point. He is very valuable to what the team is doing. He is a multiple time all NBA All star player who gets 25/10/5 nightly. He's also a bully. Built for Thibs system.

Come with a logical trade. I'll wait.

Randle is "injured a lot"? What are you smoking? Up until this season he had 8 seasons in a row where he missed, at most, like 10 games. Had a few seasons where he only missed a handful of games. He's a rock. And his injury is upper body, to his non-shooting shoulder. Excuse me for not being too worried about his recovery arc. He's going to come back to his prime.
