Jalen Brunson Open To Signing Four-Year, $156M Extension With Knicks

The New York Knicks can offer Jalen Brunson a four-year, $156 million contract extension this offseason and Newsday reports he is expected to sign it.
The extension will remove the fourth season from his current deal and tie him to the Knicks for the next five seasons.
Brunson could alternatively wait one offseason and sign a five-year, $270 million extension in the summer of 2025.
The Knicks signed Brunson during the 2022 offseason on a four-year, $107 million deal.

4 years 40mil or 5 years 54mil i guess one year would only be 27mil or something so the math might be closer

This would be a no-brainer for the Knicks if Jalen will sign it, the 4th year is a player option anyway.

Dallas totally screwed his career earnings by keeping him on the bench so long. Jalen didn't even enter his last season in Dallas a full time starter.

Cry me a river. He will finish his career with like 300-400 millions career earnings. As if it made a difference if it was 500, 600 or 700 million...
The dude can eat truffled wagyu steak on his private jet three times a day for the rest of his life and not go broke.

This would be a huge concession from JB, which would allow the Knicks to use that saved money on other players. I would imagine that JB will be taken care of for life.
