Jaylen Brown was awarded the Larry Bird Eastern Conference finals MVP after the Boston Celtics completed a sweep of the Indiana Pacers on Monday.

Brown averaged 29.8 points, five rebounds, three assists, and two steals for the series.

Brown received five out of nine votes, with Jayson Tatum getting the other four votes.

“He was unreal this whole series, a complete player on both sides of the ball that you don’t really see much these days,” said Derrick White of Brown.

Hats off to Jaylen Brown - incredible post-season run and elevating his overall game in the process.

Truly impressed with how he has improved his game and taken it to the next level - unarguably amongst the best two way players in the league. Equally as impressive off the court.

Hard to believe he is just 27 and will have 2 Finals under his belt along with ECF MVP.

agreed. only thing i wish he would improve on is his free throws. he always seems to struggle hard in the play offs. celtics are also really lucky he recovered his fumbled dribble last night before the kick out to white. its always so scary to see him and tatum handle the ball in the playoffs cuz they dribble it off their feet so often. side note, tatum really has to watch his push offs before his jumper. the refs could call him for it every time if they wanted to and it seems now they just do it occasionally

They also vote on past experiences. Not sure why and how he got 4 people to vote for him.

Truthfully it could’ve went to JB or JT; JT was balling as well. Hell it could’ve went to Jrue…this coming from a Celtics fan that watched every game.

JT averaged 30/10/6 in the ECF, joining LeBron as the only player to average those #s in a Conference Finals. Shot 46/31/79 though, so us Celtics fans understand the prevailing narrative that he is trash ;)

Real talk: glad Jaylen won. His forced TO and 3 at the end of game 1, and several other big plays down the stretch in games 3 and 4, made him very worthy. Averaged 30/5/3 on 52/37/66, and 11 stocks vs 9 TOs (Jayson was 7 stocks vs 13 TOs).

Far and away what I care about is the team winning it all -- that becomes much easier if the Jays are playing well, which they are.
