USA Basketball has selected their women's basketball roster for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The 12 women selected are:

• Napheesa Collier


• Khaleah Copper


• Chelsea Gray


• Brittney Griner


• Sabrina Ionescu


• Jewell Loyd


• Kelsey Plum


• Breanna Stewart


• Diana Taurasi


• Alyssa Thomas


• A'ja Wilson


• Jackie Young

The roster does not include rookie Caitlin Clark to the surprise of many. However, this team is filled with veteran talent and will be a heavy favorite to win a gold medal.

we already saw in the final four and championship game how these girls hate clark. they dont want clark being a part of it, im sure there were discussions about clark joining with the players. and taurasi for sure said she dont want her there. them girls are petty and spiteful like that

This whole thing is media driven hype. Makes sense given the WNBA's unpopularity. They did the same thing with MJ. When a league isn't popular, you have no manufacture the hype. Smart business move, but this should show people how easily they're influenced by the media and by the mob. Still don't care about the WNBA.

Better and play in a fashion that is more conducive to winning vs shot chucking/not playing d/high turn over rate. She will have her time...now isn't it though.

All speculation. The real issue is the only reason to put her on the team would be hype to appease her annoying casual basketball watching fanbase. The the focus will be on why she is on the bench...why isn't she getting more minutes...why isn't the offense flowing through he...why did she get benched for turning the ball over and not getting back on d...why can't she pull from half court whenever she wants. You can't satisfy them and it isn't worth trying. Field the best team possible and let them enjoy the experience.

i understand that

but you cant have it both ways. either you accept the pay without crying or you are all in in growing the game and maximizing their money. in this scenario.

btw besides experience i dont think tuarasi is that much better. at least statistically they are both really bad below 40% last time i checked and she can balery get 1 assist per game. statistically speaking clark looks much better. i didnt watch all the games i cant say anything about the eye test. but yea, thats how i see it.

i dont know how much influence the WNBA has in terms of roster decisions, so obviously USABs priority is not players salary or growing the game, which i can understand obviously.
