Jerry West has passed away at the age of 86.

West played for the Los Angeles Lakers from 1960 until 1974 where he was a 10-time All-NBA First Team selection and two-time All-NBA Second Team pick. West was selected to the NBA's 35th, 50th and 75th anniversary teams.

As an executive, West won eight championships with six coming as the lead decision maker with the Lakers, and two additional titles as a consultant with the Golden State Warriors.

In recent years, West was a consultant for the Los Angeles Clippers.

Despite being 86, he didn't feel close to the end.

He had so much energy and mental acuity and the mobility of a person 25 years younger.

Damn...sad day for the NBA and basketball. He was a basketball lifer, was so good as a player (from highlights) and exec, had a great humbleness about him too. Was one of the first hires that changed GSW culture. Big loss and he'll be sorely missed.

Bill Walton and now Jerry West in like 2 weeks. 2 Legends who made huge impact.

Mr. West was an Icon to LAKER Nation. There are too many accomplishments to mention, but he steadied the ship thru the 90s. And we are still relevant since he began with the organization in the 60s
