The Brooklyn Nets have expressed no interest in trading Mikal Bridges, sources tell Fred Katz of The Athletic

The Nets have received considerable trade interest in Bridges dating back to when he was first acquired in 2023 as part of the Kevin Durant trade. The Memphis Grizzlies and Houston Rockets have been two teams most strongly linked with Bridges, while the Knicks are also a natural fit due to his Villanova connections and their need for a small forward.

The Nets view Bridges as a costar to be paired with another star they can acquire at a later date.

Bridges cannot become a free agent until 2026 and is represented by Jordan Gertler and Sam Goldfeder.

He’s not a star. He’s a role player, the Nets are doomed until they realize they are trying to build around a role player.

Yeah I agree he's not a star but he's a damn good 3 and D player. Every team is looking for 3 and D players so I understand the Nets hesitancy to trade him. The Nets still have some time to make their decision on what to do with him.

They got offered their picks back to trade him not taking that deal was insane they arent even a playoff team.. Not just their picks but a guy who has maybe star potential.. This is just crazy cope hanging on to him.

Yes, everyone needs a 3 and D player. However, if you don't have the stars to get him the Ball to shoot those 3s he kinda serves no purpose. NJ Managment is not only wasting the teams time but also Bridge's time. He needs to be traded ASAP.

Mikal Bridges is an outstanding role player - elite 3D wing.

He is at best your 3rd option - a role he thrived in with the Suns.

He is not the franchise player you build around - especially at 28.

The Nets should realize that if they are getting a haul for Bridges now then they should consider that opportunity.

He’s much better than just a role player.

That is the issue.

Why trade a 2nd star away for picks when you are building something into 2025 and 2026?

He’s not old. He’s a great player. He’s just not a Top 20 player.

Forgot about that Houston deal. Yeah they fumbled then.
