The New York Knicks acquired OG Anunoby from the Toronto Raptors in late December and the widespread expectation has been that he will re-sign with the team and not test free agency.

"Let's keep an eye on that," said Brian Windhorst on Get Up on Monday morning about Anunoby becoming eligible to discuss a new deal with the Knicks. "Most people believe Anunoby will stay with New York, but there have been indications he may want to test the market, because he's not thrilled with what the Knicks are offering."

"I heard that internally as well," replied Jay Williams.

Anunoby left Klutch Sports to sign with CAA last June. Anunoby's agents Drew Morrison, Austin Brown and Sam Rose. Sam Rose is the son of Knicks' lead decision maker Leon Rose.

This guy is always hurt. Knicks should let him walk and keep Bogi and Hartenstein.

Nice topic, bound to be debated. If it is purely about money, no one can beat the knicks because they can offer a 5th year and 8% increases. Everyone has to deal with the cap annually. A 4 year contract at same money uses a ton of annual cap space.

OG averaged 15/4/2 in 50 games last season... which is on par with his career numbers. He's not a max player on a good team.

CAA propaganda. This is after his agent Leon Rose gives him a max he can say, "we had no choice!??!?". The Knicks will be capped out, no chance at a title, and the CAA mafia can leech from Hart, i Hart, Randle, OG and Brunson long after they get traded off after Leon is fired. Dolan getting fleeced is funny if the team was actually finals capable.

He's a really nice player when he's in the lineup. But, that's the problem. He's basically been a part-time player his entire pro career. Availability is important and teams are starting to take it into consideration, finally.

hes not worth the max. if hes asking for that.

id be willing to give him a 1+1 for good money and incentives for staying on the court. his healthissues are almost not sustainable.

its unfortunate because we saw what the team is like with a healthy OG and its amazing but yea when hes barely playing 50 games and cant play in the playoffs, i dont know...

KP is better than OG so if you pay OG more than KP you aint winning anything if he is asking for a max contract then he should be laughed out of the room..

Raptors dodged a bullet.

OG is a solid 4th or 5th option and should get paid like one.

This story really seems like it is prepping the Knicks fans mentally for when OG gets a max offer

If it was anybody other than Windhorst saying this, I'd think it has some merit, but I still think OG ends up signed to a Knicks contract.

If he stays healthy he is a very impactful player on a contending team. He can help a team win a championship. Not a max but really solid player nonetheless.

Well considering that Siakam signed at 4 year $189 million contract it's pretty clear that OG isn't likely going to get what he wants (i.e. more than what Siakam signed for).

That's called "cutting your nose off to spite your face" if Masai did that.
