The Los Angeles Lakers have yet to make a formal offer to J.J. Redick, who is widely considered the most likely candidate to become their next head coach. Redick interviewed with the Lakers in Los Angeles between Games 4 and 5 of The Finals last weekend.

"They've only offered the job to Dan Hurley," said Adrian Wojnarowski on Wednesday evening. "And then the Lakers pivoted back to J.J. Redick. What Rob Pelinka had with Redick at the combine was kind of a 90 minute 'get to know you.' Not digging real deep but just talking and then they brought him to L.A. last weekend and he went through the more formal interview process.

"And Redick has talked with Rob Pelinka since then. I know Pelinka has talked with other another candidate or two since Redick's interview this week. But what's really left for the Lakers and J.J. Redick at this point is for the Lakers to make an offer, which they haven't quite done yet."

James Borrego is the only other publicly known serious candidate for the Lakers. Monty Williams is not expected to emerge as a candidate at this point in the process following his sudden firing by the Detroit Pistons. Hurley, however, was not a known candidate until he was quickly offered the job following reports of their mutual interest two weeks ago.
