ESPN has lost a lead game analyst for the third time in less than a year with J.J. Redick exiting the network to become head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers. ESPN parted ways with Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson after the 2023 Finals before hiring Doc Rivers, who left to become head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks in January.

Sources tell FrontOfficeSports that ESPN won't make a decision on who will replace Redick for several months. Executive Dave Roberts will take his time in deciding how to move forward.

While Richard Jefferson could be elevated to the lead booth, ESPN could ultimately decide to leave it to Mike Green and Doris Burke as a two-person team.
