The Chicago Bulls will continue to seek out a trade of Zach LaVine, but his market is believed to be tepid.

While the Philadelphia 76ers and Utah Jazz have been linked with LaVine, sources have told Marc Stein that both teams do not much interest in trading for him.

LaVine is entering Year 3 of a five-year, $215 million contract signed with the Bulls in 2022. LaVine played in just 25 games last season before undergoing season-ending foot surgery. Both the Bulls and LaVine are motivated to find a trade resolution.

Chicago previously attempted to trade away LaVine by attaching Alex Caruso to him. This trade scenario was taken off the board following the Bulls' trade of Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder for Josh Giddey.

Bulls are going to have to pay to move him.

That's a given at this point, unless the incoming deal is similarly bad. There are possibilities out there. How about?

Simmons for LaVine: I love this for both teams. CHI saves long-term money and BRK turns a dead roster spot into a maybe.

Kleber and Hardaway for LaVine: Two almost somethings for a could be something.

Chicago waited much too long to trade Zach. The time to move him was 2 years ago.

Now, they're going to discover it's next to impossible to find a sucker interested team without attaching assets to get rid of him.

I get your point. 2 contracts teams don't want. However I hate it for Brooklyn. $45M and $49M in 2026 and 2027 they would be adding to their cap. If I were them I rather just let Ben Simmons go after 2025. In 2025 Brooklyn could have a massive amount of cap space. I rather have that than Zach taking up max money into his 30's.

I don't think Lavine changes much for the Nets. Especially when Bridges and Cam play that same position. So I would say the risk doesn't outweigh the best case scenario.

Cam can go to the bench or to the trade block. He's fools gold.

There's some merit to Lavine in Brooklyn at the 2, he'll give more than Cam, and Bridges has typically played the 3. I agree with the other post that Cam is fools gold, he's really not very good on the defensive end, should be that spark off the bench but I think he want's more - I might even look to trade him. With Zach, the team could hit the salary floor for a couple years as they add assets and most likely you'll see him play his best, as his last big chance for a big contract is coming and he has a lot to prove. Zach is a decent defender when motivated and a 2 year window might benefit the Nets with a future S&T or using him as an expiring at worst.

The cap space has merit, but after the debacle of Harden/KD/Irving, not sure who would want to go there over the next couple years without the Nets giving too much money or overpaying. Irving isn't helping with his negative comments about the FO.
