Knicks Acquire Mikal Bridges From Nets

The Brooklyn Nets have agreed to trade Mikal Bridges to the New York Knicks for Bojan Bogdanovic, four unprotected first-round picks, a protected first-round pick via Bucks, an unprotected pick swap and a second-rounder.

We’ve now traded RJ, Quick, Grimes and 6 picks for Bridges. Has to be some form of sign and trade with OG to get some collateral back, no?

Sure, let Morey overpay for Mr. Elite Role Player and then they can hope and pray that him and Embiid are somehow healthy when it matters.
Knicks undoubtedly overpaid for Bridges. But, at least he's dependable.

that also means Knicks traded IQ and RJ in mind 2023 season for a 4 months rental in OG. So not worth it.

I thought they were right to turn down the reported rockets package because I actually believe bridges could be the perfect number 2 with the right costar. Lmao I was wrong instead of getting our picks back we're just praying on the Knicks downfall. I bet knicks fans are conflicted but yall are a lot scarier now

Just... wow. Happy for Mikal, for sure. Things are about to get really interesting in The Garden. Sad for Cam Johnson unless he's also moved, but it's a shame they can't continue to play together.

There is no way you think bridges is a 2nd option. He is a high end role player topping a 3rd option on a true contender

I dont see it as overpaying...how often do late draft picks pan out? Or how often has NY hit a homerun on draft night? he's a "role player" like Drew Holiday is a "role player". imo

Stunning move - still trying to process but hats off to the Knicks FO.
Knicks now have 2 of the top 5 ELITE 3D players in the entire league ( and arguably best defensive wings ).
Very few trades fit perfectly - culture, skillset, chemistry, salary, age factor - Mikal checks off all the boxes. Yes he is not the elite top 10 player that Knicks have been craving for -- but we already have our top 10 player in Jalen Brunson.
Ultimately you have to look at the OG / Mikal trade in aggregation :
Knicks received - OG Anunoby / Mikal Bridges / Precious Achiuwa ( & Malachi Flynn )
Knicks traded :
RJ Barrett
Immanuel Quickley
Bojan Bogdanovic,

interesting to see if we resign OG at all. Hes just demanding too much money, considering hes never fit to play in the playoffs.
i dont blame leon for taking the chance on OG, especially thinking about the reports that said OG would take a paycut with the knicks. IQ and RJ didnt really help us get anywhere, so i dont see it as a big loss.
If we can resign OG for 35-40 per id still do it. because that is a dangerous lineup with bridges and og

Dude Im sorry but I don't think you know anything about organized Basketball! Bridges has and will always be a role player! He is a good role player and gat is one of the reasons why he is being traded l! He is not an all-star! But you can keep dreaming or hitting that sticky icky!

We should wait and see where OG signs before anyone says goodbye to him. The latest rumors are that the Knicks will probably keep OG, but they could lose Hartenstein.
Five picks feels like an overpay, but NY is trying to win a title. Mikal could help with that.
