While Russell Westbrook picked up his $4 million player option for the 24-25 season with the Los Angeles Clippers, a source told Law Murray of The Athletic that he may not actually begin the season on the team. Murray doesn't specify whether Westbrook is a buyout candidate or could be traded. The Clippers, who are navigating the free agency of Paul George and James Harden, are motivated to stay under the NBA's second apron set at $190 million.
Westbrook appeared in 68 games last season with the Clippers, averaging 11.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists in 22.5 minutes.
Westbrook is represented by Jeff Schwartz.
